Container Types

Dry Container

A dry shipping container is the most common type of container used for shipping goods by sea. They are typically made of steel and are available in various sizes, from 20 feet to 40 feet in length. Standard shipping containers are used for a variety of applications, including the transport of general cargo, automobiles, and construction materials.

High Cube

High-cube shipping containers are similar to standard shipping containers with an extra 1-foot higher height to make room for cargo that need more space. They are typically used for shipping taller items, such as machinery or furniture. High cube shipping containers are available in a range of sizes, from 40 feet to 53 feet in length. You can use high-cube containers for all types of dry cargo. However, they are aptly used for transporting light, voluminous cargoes, and over-height cargoes.

Reefer Containers

Reefer shipping containers are used to transportperishable goods that need to be kept in cold temperatures. Reefers are equipped with a refrigeration unit that maintains the desired temperature for the goods transported. They can maintain any temperature between -30°C and +30°C. All your cold goods will stay fresh in here. Reefers are typically made of steel and are available in various sizes, from 20 feet to 40 feet in length.

Side Door

These containers have extra doors that open on the long side of the container. This extra door space allows you to easily load big bulky cargo like large equipment that needs more door space to fit inside. The high cube element here gives it the advantage of fitting in
cargo that is not just larger in width but also height.

Open-Top

Open-top shipping containers are a type of container with a roof that can be removed. This makes them ideal for carrying tall or bulky items that must be loaded from the top. They are also often used for carrying dangerous goods or hazardous materials, as the open top allows for ventilation. Open-top containers are available in various sizes and can be made from steel or aluminum.

Container Grades

Shipping containers are inspected and graded according to age, structural soundness, exterior and interior condition, number of miles traveled, damage and repair history, and the weather conditions in which it was stored and shipped.

One Trip

Built within the last two years, these containers may have been used only once – at most — for international shipping. All parts are in excellent condition, the best you can get. Shopping for a NEW container means you simply get the best in quality.

Cargo Worthy

These are the highest quality USED containers that you’ll find when buying or renting units. Cargo Worthy containers have been inspected and deemed worthy of holding and protecting cargo for transport. Often contain minor imperfections such as surface rust, dings, or dents.

Wind and Water Tight

These USED containers are best equipped to handle the static storage of your items. Containers have been inspected to ensure they don’t allow wind and water events to damage your belongings.

As Is

As-is containers are best suited for customers that are unconcerned with significant defects or are handi-enough to fix them, themselves. Often the most affordable, yet customers need to be prepared for holes in the plywood flooring or inoperable doors.
